Purpose

The purpose of the Thurrock Children's Partnership Board is to provide a forum to support integrated delivery of services to children and their families; bringing together key stakeholders and partners to

  • inform and influence the Children's Trust Executive in developing its strategic direction and vision.
  • scrutinise the performance of the Children's Trust Executive to ensure improved outcomes for children, young people and families
  • engage with each other, creating networks and connections
  • raise awareness and understanding within their own organisations and networks of the work of children and young people's services

Functions

The Thurrock Children's Partnership Board will:

  • Champion children and young people in Thurrock;
  • Champion the interests of children and young people in the Local Area Agreement;
  • Ensure consistency between the Children and Young People Plan and the Shaping Thurrock Sustainable Communities Strategy;
  • Shape inter-agency strategy;
  • Raise awareness and understanding within their own organisations of the work of children and young people's services in Thurrock;
  • Set the direction for analysis of local needs, and inform the direction of Thurrock's Joint Commissioning Framework

Reporting Lines

The Children's Trust Executive will report to the LSP (Shaping Thurrock) on behalf of the Children's Partnership Board.

Meetings

The Children's Partnership Board will meet 3 times a year in workshop style, in a suitable venue.

Meetings will take place at the following dates/venues:

  • 5 October 2010, 1:30-4:30pm, Main Hall, Culver Centre
  • 24 March 2011, 1:30-4:30pm, Room G2, Culver Centre
  • 7 June 2011, 1:30-4:30pm, Room G2, Culver Centre

The Children's Trust Programme Board Manager will ensure the meetings are serviced and a record of decisions are retained.
