Programme Boards
The role of the programme boards is for their membership to take responsibility for a portfolio of work that will contribute to both the delivery of the priorities in the Sustainable Community Strategy and the wider aims of the Shaping Thurrock Partnership.
There are five programme boards with general responsibilities as set out below:
The Thurrock Community Safety Partnership works to reduce crime and disorder and drug and alcohol misuse in order to make Thurrock a safer place and a stronger community.
The Healthier Communities Partnership works to develop and drive the strategic direction of health and well being of the population of Thurrock.
The Thurrock Children's Trust provides strategic leadership to the implementation of effective integrated services for children and young people in Thurrock.
The Sustainable Communities Programme Board focuses on addressing the needs of Thurrock in relation to regeneration and the establishment of sustainable communities. This includes economic development, neighbourhood renewal, housing, leisure and culture, environment, community infrastructure, lifelong learning and transport.
The Communities Involvement Board will seek to ensure that local communities and local people are given more say in the decisions that affect them In particular, the Board will lead the shape of consultation, participation and engagement processes with local communities and across the Shaping Thurrock partnership.
